Amazon puts Alexa in your remote control.

Small, minimalist, elegant, and practical, their new invention will enable users to control the television using voice.

Amazon wants to turn any existing TV into a smart TV over the next few months. Capable of giving the user reasons to dive into the beautiful world of multimedia and ultra-connected content. One of its most exciting devices is the Fire Stick family. A small “dongle” reminiscent of Google’s “Chromecast,” that connects to a monitor or screen to provide intelligent functionality.

Nothing new but major improvements coming!

The Fire Stick 4K, which, as its name suggests, can offer content in 4K quality, the image standard pursued by the industry. Besides, the Alexa digital assistant has been integrated into the controller, allowing users to control the television or even pair it with other domestic appliances in the Echo range with simple voice instructions.

The “gadget” gives access to different television programs, streaming services such as Netflix and of course Amazon Prime Video, as well as access to information of all kinds via the Internet. At the moment, HBO is not available. The American company, which presented the device at the IFA fair in Berlin (Germany), has also announced that it is “in negotiations” to bring the next Disney Plus television service to its catalog of services.

The design, with respect to its predecessor, has hardly changed.

Its operation is independent and autonomous since its installation does not require too much complexity; plug it into the television and give permission to the domestic WiFI network, users can manage digital content. Some content can also be transferred relatively quickly from a mobile device application, such as the Spotify streaming music service.

The great advantage of the device is, without a doubt, the remote control by voice through the Alexa assistant. It allows you not only to search for content but also to manage it. “Alexa reproduces the third chapter of the first season of “La Casa de Papel.” It is an example of what the new Fire Stick can do. But, in turn, tell him with a natural language “Alexa, advance two minutes the chapter” or “Alexa, skip the introduction.”

All the orders made can be made through simple voice commands, although the presence of a conventional command allows you to adjust other parameters such as volume. The device logically supports Full HD resolutions and offers support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+ systems, but is ready to manage content at 4K quality, which is a big leap from its predecessor. This new generation is also preceded by a renewed user interface, more clean and intuitive, designed to improve the experience.
